Budapest, the capital of Hungary has 23 districts, each with its own local government.
There are six districts in
Buda, sixteen districts in Pest and there is one district on Csepel
island between them. Each district can be associated with one or more city parts named
after former towns within Budapest.

Budapest's districts are numbered clockwise, in widening circles, similarly to the districts
of Paris.

The middle two numbers in a zip code of mailing addresses indicate the district number.
For example 1124 is a zip code of an address in the 12th district.
Districts we skipped are simply not expat neighborhoods at all, given their rather run-down
status or far distance from schools, work and other conveniences.

Locations for property investment  >>>
When looking for a neighborhood to settle, other options to look into are suburban
communities on the Buda side of the river like Diosd, Budaors, Budakeszi, Torokbalint,
Erd and so on; you will notice larger houses with gardens for sale and for rent in these
places.
